- Daemitri was the first and only son of his family, though a younger sister would follow when he was four. His parents moved from Russia, about three years or so before he was born. He speaks Russian fluently, and usually you can find him talking rapidly in the language to his mother over the phone.
- His father was bitten when he was two. He doesn't rememeber those first shifts, or his father much. The explanation always was that daddy worked away, worked long hours and could only come home every so often. It wasn't until he was much older that he knew the truth.
- Growing up without a father, he grew increasingly attached to his mother, and is something of a momma's boy when it comes down to it. She raised him right thought and got him into school
- Kids always asked where his dad was, but the boy never minded much, He had grown used to the situation and accepted it as the truth. Elementary and Middle school brought nothing out of the ordinary for the boy, though he was usually in trouble for his jokes.
- In his junior year in Highschool, he was out in the backyard, getting firwood, because it was still rather cold even in spring and he could never be too cautious when he saw the wolf weaving through the brush. The sun flashed behind him, and he sheilded his eyes, squinting as he thought he saw the wolf twitching, it's frame shrinking and spasming. It stood, and he would have run inside and called the doctor if the now human hadn't spoken his name.
- His father was a shifter. Sure, he was shocked but it was nice to know the real reason, and it wasn't that he was out cheating on Tatiana or doing horrible things, he was just trapped in his wolfskin. It was weird yes, it was shocking yes, but it was his father, and there was nothing he could do.
- After that, he was a lot more concious of the wolves, and decouraged any kind of hunting attempt he heard within the school system. He continued to do well, and had small plans to go to the local college.
- It was that year that his father didn't shift back. His mother had been suspecting it, afterall Dae was nearly 18 and Aleksandr had been shifting for 16 years. It was a long time. and she knew it was to happen. Still that didn't make it any less hard. The college plans were canceled and he stayed in town, buying the small house he lives in now.
- The rumors flew, that Alek had died, that he had finally cheated and left, or just that Tatiana had just devorced him after too long of a one sided marriage. The strong woman and her son simply ignored them. They knew the truth and that was that.
- Daemitri graudated, and saved and saved before buying his tiny cafe/bookstore beneath a loft apartment that he also owns, because it came with the building, but it's mostly empty now. His business is doing well though, and he has high hopes.
